Steel Mandrel Pigs:
Steel pigs are a more long-term, long-life pig. They consist of a steel mandrel body with replaceable sealing elements (cups and discs). They can also be equipped with abrasive components (brushes and blades) for removing deposits on the interior pipe wall. The advantage of steel pigs is the ability to replace the wearing components, thereby rendering it a new pig. Individual specification sheets, found within each product classification, outline the different types of applications and options.

Articulated Pigs:
Articulated pigs are primarily used in small-diameter applications with tight-radius bends. They are equipped with brushes for cleaning operations such as pre-commission and on-stream cleaning where rust, millscale, sand, wax, organic growth, mud, oxides, and other foreign matter exist. Available in sizes 6" through 14". Various brush designs include wire-wheel, split-ring, and spring-loaded, as well as polyurethane blades. When equipped with gauging plate, pig is used to prove pipe roundness and to ensure excessive weld penetration or debris does not exist. Also used to prove minimum bend radius prior to intelligent pig use.

Batching Pigs (Cup Type):
Cup-type batching pigs are used for standard pigging operations such as filling and dewatering during hydrostatic testing, routine batching operations, and product removal. They are available in sizes from 2" through 48" with configurations including 2-cup, 3-cup and 4-cup as standard. When equipped with a gauging plate, they are used to prove pipe roundness and to ensure excessive weld penetration or debris does not exist. Also, they are used to prove minimum bend radius prior to intelligent pig use.

Brush Cleaning Pigs:
Brush cleaning pigs are used during pre-commission and on-stream cleaning where rust, millscale, sand, wax, organic growth, mud, oxides, and other foreign matter exist. Sizes range from 2" through 48", with brush configurations including wire wheel, split-ring, wrap-around, and spring mounted. When equipped with a gauging plate, they are used to prove pipe roundness and to ensure excessive weld penetration or debris does not exist. Also, they are used to prove minimum bend radius prior to intelligent pig use.

Conical Cup Pigs:
The conical-cup pig design is capable of easy modification for 2-cup, 3-cup or 4-cup use as well as being equipped with brushes or blades, allowing it to perform the duties of batching, gauging, hydrostatic testing, product removal, pre-commissioning and on-stream cleaning. The Conical-cup design allows for negotiation of varying internal pipe diameters and up to 15% reductions or deformations in nominal size pipe. Units are available in 2" through 48" and are capable of being fitted with gauging plate machined to specifications.

Displacement Pigs (Disc Type):
Disc displacement pigs are used for standard pigging operations such as filling and dewatering during hydrostatic testing, routine batching operations, product removal, or any pigging operation requiring bidirectional use. These pigs are also very effective for product separation. They are available in sizes from 2" through 48" with configurations including 2-disc and 4-disc as standard. When equipped with a gauging plate, they are used to prove pipe roundness and to ensure excessive weld penetration or debris does not exist. Also, they are used to prove minimum bend radius prior to intelligent pig use.

Dual-Diameter Pigs:
These pigs are capable of negotiating piping consisting of dual or multiple diameter sections, such as 16" x 24", whereby other standard pig types are inefficient. Available in sizes 6" x 8" and larger, with multiple configurations.

Multi-disc Pigs:
Multi-disc design allows for excellent sealing capabilities for performing the duties of batching, gauging, product removal, pre-commission and on-stream cleaning, or any pigging operation requiring bidirectional use. Equipped with gauging plate, pig is used to prove pipe roundness and to ensure excessive weld penetration or debris does not exist. Also used to prove minimum bend radius prior to intelligent pig use.

Various Design Options (Steel):
Most steel-mandrel pigs can be manufactured with various design options including adding or substituting cups and discs, equipping with transmitter or pinger cavity, adding gauging plates, as well as customized diameters, lengths, and other configurations
